Obituary:
Eloise Rodgers Tooke, 86, of Rye, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24, 2020 in Monticello, AR. She was born April 25, 1933, in the Kedron (Randall) Community to Newt and Ophie Rodgers and was raised in the fellowship of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. Eloise graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1951. She married Billy Hunt Tooke on October 31, 1954, and moved to the family farm at Rye where she was a homemaker. After being widowed, she became the elementary secretary at Woodlawn School, a position she held for 25 years until her retirement in 2010. Eloise was a member of Prosperity United Methodist Church, where she faithfully played the piano for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and an older brother Billy Charles, who died in childhood. Eloise leaves behind sons Dewayne Tooke (Sara) and Tommy Tooke (Sandra) all of Rye, AR, Dennis Tooke (Lisa) of Moss Bluff, La., and a daughter Kara Olsen (Darren) of Auburn, Ala; Nine grandchildren, Aaron Tooke (Lindsey), Emily McElroy (Brandon), Todd Tooke (Leah), Crystal McCoskey (Shannon), Melissa Rawls (Cody), David Tooke (Shelby), Cameron Tooke, and Harper and Tate Olsen; and five great-grandchildren, Faith and Rowdy Tooke, Kendall Tooke, and Evan and Audrey Kate McCoskey; a sister Sewilda Jacks (Billy) of Randall Community and a brother Derrell Rodgers (Dorothy) of Mountain View, AR The Tooke family thanks the staff and residents of Belle View Estates Rehabilitation and Care Center in Monticello for their kind and compassionate care and friendship over the last year. Funeral service was Sunday, January 26th at Union United Methodist Church at Rye, AR with Bro. Charles Woolley officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Aaron Tooke, Brandon McElroy, Todd Tooke, Shannon McCoskey, Cody Rawls, David Tooke, Cameron Tooke and Tate Olsen.
