Dorothy Peebles Wisener of Warren passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2019. She was born March 2, 1925, in Ladelle, Arkansas, to Carl Peebles and Grace Thurman Peebles. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Kay Wisener; two brothers, Burtis Carl Peebles and Tommy Peebles; and grandsons William Matthew Wisener and Justin Clay Wisener. She moved to Warren from Drew County in the 1940’s as a single young woman. She rented a room from Ruth Berry Johnston who became a surrogate grandmother to the family. She was employed at the Arkla gas company, and later Derby Insurance, and the local credit bureau which she managed from home. Eventually, she co-managed the Corral Restaurant with husband, W.K. Wisener, and head cook Robert Louis Anderson, unit after Kay’s death in 1977. She then took an administrative position at Bradley County Medical Hospital and served in a variety of roles until her retirement at the age of 85. Chief among her many roles was the creation and management of the hospital rose garden. A lifelong Methodist, Dorothy lived out her faith in service to others. She was a faithful member of the Bradley County Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, William Carl Wisener and wife Mary Jo of Monticello, Arkansas; Lynn Wisener Jones and husband Danny of Wimberley, Texas; Thomas Neil Wisener and wife Karyn of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and Ruth Ann Wisener and husband Don Harvell of Whitefish, Montana; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 7, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Warren followed by the burial at Oakland Cemetery in Warren. Arrangements were by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons Michael Ross Jones, Samuel Carl Wisener, Jordan Howard Wisener, Jarrod Neil Wisener; great-grandson Braydon Carl Wisener; and church grounds-keeping partner John Cuthbertson.
