Martha Jane Atwell Broach
Funeral Date: 7/19/2019

Martha Jane Atwell was born March 30, 1933 in Warren, AR to William Clifton Atwell and Doris Webb Atwell and grew up around the Hermitage/Warren/Jersey area of South Arkansas. Beautiful inside and out, Martha was very popular, had many friends and played on the basketball team at Hermitage High School. On April 23, 1956, at the age of 23, Martha married the love of her life, Leonard Marlin Broach, who preceded her in death in 2016. The two were married for 61 wonderful years. After their wedding ceremony, the two moved to the West Texas town of Snyder where Martha held several jobs within the oil industry. After realizing they weren’t moving back to Arkansas anytime soon, the couple decided to start a family and, soon after, their only son, Mickey Blaine Broach, was born in January of 1966. The family enjoyed fishing, camping, being active in their church, Morningside Baptist, and spending time with dear friends in West Texas. The couple eventually moved back to South AR in May of ’96, where they became active members of Victory Baptist Church. There, they reconnected with old friends and made tons of new friends. They loved their church family dearly. Martha leaves behind one son, Mickey Blaine Broach and his wife Shea, of Rogers, AR, and five grandchildren: Kyler, Aivan, Emryk, Willow and Sawyer, as well as one sister, Betty Jo Dixon of Jersey, AR. Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Victory Baptist Church in Hampton with Rev. Eddie Raines officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery at Jersey by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Larry Davis, Ronnie Duncan, David Duncan, Randy Duncan, Marty Duncan, and Jimmy Hammack. Honorary pallbearer was Bill Jeffreys.
