Emily Sweeney Booker age 98, of Hermitage, AR died Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Chapel Woods Nursing Center. She was born December 17, 1920 in Bradley County, AR a daughter of the late Claude L. Sweeney SR, and Georgia Langston Sweeney. She was a Rosie The Riveter, where she made airplane parts in War War II, was a tomato farmer, a housewife and homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was also proceeded in death by her husband, Aubert Lavon Booker, whom she married February 15, 1947 and he died February 2, 2001, her son, Kenneth Booker, brothers, Jack Sweeney SR, and James Harold Sweeney, sisters, Verna Lee Sweeney, Irma Rotton and Nell Hardin. She is survived by grandchildren, Barry Booker and spouse Kim, Hermitage, AR, Clint Booker and spouse Amy, Forman, AR and Tammy McDougald and spouse Joey, Sumpter, AR. A brother Jr. Sweeney, Hermitage, AR and a sister Anna Joe Nolan, Memphis, Tenn. 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 26 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Bolin officiating. Music was by Becky Gandy. Burial was in Gravelridge Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Wacie Sweeney, Joseph Huitt, Kris Bolin, Dennis Vancena, Joe Huitt, and Ryan Wiesner. Honorary pallbearers were Stan Sweeney, Donnie Rice, Ed Rice, Thomas Rice, Dr. Kerry Pennington, and Jerry Reynolds.
