Vera Mae Gannaway Weeks age 75, of Warren, AR died Tuesday, May 14th at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR. She was born March 18th, 1944 in Lake Village, AR a daughter of the late Owen James Sawyer and Lois Edwards Sawyer. She was a long-time baby sitter in Warren, was a housewife, homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Grady Buddy Weeks, Jr. who died February 12th,2006 and Claude Gannaway 3rd who died September 7th, 1988. A brother O.J. Sawyer and sisters Ruth Cummings, Myrtis Wakefield and Bernice Milburn also preceded her in death. Survivors include a son Claude “Bubba” Gannaway IV and spouse Chris Ann, Moro Bay, AR. A daughter Deborah Black and spouse Kevin, Warren, AR. A brother Henry Sawyer, Warren, AR. Sisters Willie White, Lake Village, AR, and Margaret Sawyer, Lake Village, AR. A sister in law Becky Grigson and spouse Quincy, Memphis, Tenn. 5 grandchildren Ben Gannaway, Hampton, AR, Jennifer Gannaway, Star City, AR, Blake Pope, Pine Bluff, AR, Josh Pope, Little Rock, AR and Jonderik Hubbard, Warren, AR. 6 great-grandchildren Davian Biggs, River Pope, Ridge Pope, Dylan Ingram, Emma Gannaway and Khloe Gannaway. Funeral service was 2:00PM Thursday, May 16th at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Matt Overall officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Tommy Milburn, Brad Milburn, Scott Barnes, Lynn Blaylock, Taylor Wharton, and Patrick Milburn.
