Leonard Marlin Broach, age 91, of Rogers, AR, died Thursday, March 23. Leonard who was also known as “Mollie,” “L.M.,” “Leonardo,” “Leo” and, on occasion, “Bob” was born January 8, 1926 in Harrell, AR to Oran J. Broach and Golie Elizabeth Robertson Broach. Leonard had one brother, Pete Broach, who preceded him in death in 1975. After graduating from Hermitage High School in 1943, Leonard was drafted to the Navy in April of 1944. While there, he served two years and one month before being honorably discharged. After leaving the Navy, he worked in various jobs around Warren, AR for approximately 10 years. During that period of time, he met a beautiful young lady named Martha Jane Atwell and they fell in love. They married on April 23, 1956 and moved to Snyder, Texas where Leonard worked for Lion Oil, which would later become Monsanto, which would later become BHP. After realizing they weren’t moving back to Arkansas anytime soon, they decided to start a family and, soon after, their only son, Mickey Blaine Broach, was born in January of 1966. The family enjoyed fishing, being active in their church and spending time with friends in West Texas. Leonard worked in the oil industry for some 30 years before retiring and moving back to South AR in May of ’96. In South AR, he was an active member of Victory Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time outdoors and with friends. Leonard leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Martha Jane Atwell Broach, one son, Mickey Blaine Broach and his wife Shea, of Rogers, AR, and five grandchildren: Kyler, Aivan, Emryk, Willow and Sawyer. Message: While it is indeed sad that you are mourning the loss of your dear Lenard, it saddens God more. In the days ahead, you will continue to reflect on seemingly small, yet precious memories. However, be comforted in knowing that just as we have memories, almighty God remembers too. The difference is, God has the ability to restore perfect life to those in His memory.
