Obituary:
Rev. Floyd James Taylor, Sr., age 94, of El Dorado, AR. died Friday March 29 at Medical Center of South Arkansas. Born September 8, 1918 in Warren, AR. a son of the late William Andrew Taylor and Hazel Fawn Hearrell Taylor he was a retired Baptist minister serving numerous congregations in South Arkansas, a retired school teacher and member Parkview Baptist Church. The widower of Margaret Aileen Taylor he was also preceded in death by a brother Malvin Taylor, sister Opal Burks, grandson Wilson Andrew Taylor, II. Surviving is his wife Carleen Joyce Primm Barksdale Taylor whom he married on August 29, 1989; 3 sons Floyd James Taylor, Jr. and spouse Leta, Monticello, AR., Wilson Andrew Taylor, Lawson, AR., John Michael Taylor and spouse Connie, Taylor, AR. 1 daughter Nancy Ann Ritchey and spouse Conrad, Estill Spring, TN. 1 step daughter Perry Joyce Mason, Conway, AR. 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 10:00 am Tuesday April 2, Parkview Baptist Church in El Dorado with Rev. Lyle Hern officiating. Musicians were Staacy Smith and Ricky Foord. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery at Warren by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Seth Taylor, Ethan Taylor, Chris Taylor, John Michael Taylor, II., Louis Gene Tate and Jason Cunningham. Honorary pallbearers were ministers of Liberty Baptist Association. Memorials preferred Parkview Baptist Church, 608 West 8th Street, El Dorado, Ark. 71730 or Arkansas Baptist Childrenís Home, 222 Pope Street, Monticello, Ark 71665.
