Opal Reece Johnson age 95 of Hermitage, AR. died Tuesday, January 22nd at the Bradley County Medical Center. She was born November 6th, 1917 in the Marsden Community below Hermitage, AR. a daughter of the late J. F. Johnson and Jodie Ophelia Gorman Johnson. She was the retired Postmaster for the Hermitage Post Office and a member of the Hermitage Baptist Church. Also preceding her in death was her husband Raymond G. Johnson whom she married December 9th, 1937 and he died April 20, 2007. Brothers J. C. Johnson, Bob Ira Johnson and sisters Sallie Lou McNabb and Jimmie Lee Brown. Survivors include 3 sons, James Donald Johnson and spouse Lorene, Monroe, LA., Raymond G. Johnson and spouse Carol, Pine Bluff, AR. and Acie G. Johnson and spouse Beverly, Pine Bluff, AR. A sister Willie Merl Harrod, Hermitage, AR. 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 1:30pm Friday, January 25th at Frazerís Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Soloist was Mikki Johnson and she also provided the music. Burial was in Marsden Cemetery by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Neville Goedhals, Phillip Morrow, Mark Morrow, Travis Brown, Will Barnes and Acie Ray Sweet. Memorials preferred The Hermitage Baptist Church.
