Bro. Johnny L. Jones

Brother Johnny L. Jones, age 71, of Warren, AR. went home to be with our Lord on November 16, 2012. He was born on May 4, 1941 in the Auburn Community which is now Fort Chaffee, AR. He was the son of Marshall "Chuck" Jones and Ila M. Jones. He is survived by his wife Bernadine Marie Jeremiah Jones, 4 daughters, Denise Smith, Warren, AR. Angela Shinn (Steve), Conway, AR. Tina McClain, Monticello, AR., Tanya Johnson (A.J.), Banks, AR. 6 Grandchildren Jonathan Wright (Samantha), Kyle Shinn, Faith Marie Boykin (B.J.) Krysten Shinn, Erin Lee McClain, Kyndall Shinn. One Great Granddaughter, Brayleigh Marie Boykin. 1 brother, Gary Don Jones of New Blaine, Arkansas, 2 sisters, Jacqueline Berkley of Barling, AR and Charlotte Jay of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was preceded in his passing by his father, Marshall Jones, his mother, Ila M. Jones, 2 brothers, Billy Marshall Jones, Terry Ray Jones and 2 sisters Carolyn Geheb of Fort Smith and Barbara Sue Dyer of Fort Smith. Johnny and Bernadine were married for 52 years as of November 4, 2012 and he was called into the ministry in 1961. He was an ordained Free Will Baptist minister and pastored Churches in Oklahoma, Texas and Warren Arkansas in the Saline Association. He was a32ND. degree mason, shriner and had served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard for over 20 years. He retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant in the HQ3-163 Infantry Batallion and was an assistant Chaplin when he retired. He was at Little Rock in the Army National Guard when the famous "nine" were being a part of the ordered desecration and he actually was one of the ones transporting the students to school. He was in love with deer hunting and fishing. He was the founder of Johnny’s Radiator Shop in Warren, Arkansas which he managed since 1973. It is now owned by his daughter, Tanya Johnson and her husband, A.J. He loved deer hunting and fishing and all aspects of the two Army’s he served in. The army of the Lord and the army of the United States. He loved people and laughter. The horrible disease of Alzheimers Destroyed his body. He will be missed but his life will always be celebrated in the hearts of the ones he leaves behind. A find to many and helped many people spiritually and physically. The celebration of his life was 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Warren Cultural Center. Many things could be said and elaborated on, but he preached his sermon by the life he lived and there will never by another like him.
