Message: I had the joy of meeting Carl when we moved in next to him years ago, we had many dinners together and my daughter adored him. He always told her when she was older he would take her fishing, we saw him not long ago in the store and asked her if she was ready, she told him almost, she regrets not gong with him now, but said they will go when she gets to Heaven, but he can fish with her brother for now. She is only 8. Carl was an amazing man, who always had a smile on his face, and made others smile too. He was truly an angel on Earh, he will be missed terribly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Message: Dear Savage Family: Bradley County Arkansas lost a great man with the passing of Mr. Savage. Any time I reflect on the trips Dad and I made to Carl's One Stop, a smile comes to my face. I can't explain it fully but there was something special about Carl and about his business. It was more than bricks and mortar. It was his heart and soul. Many are the men in South Arkansas who have a strong tie to Carl Savage starting from those childhood hunting and fishing trips with their fathers and grandfathers. We were blessed to have been in his company. May God bless all of you during this time of sorrow. Andy, Kim, Ridge and Drew Gibbs

Message: Dale, Jan & Renee, & ms. Roberta: So sorry to hear of Mr. Carl's passing. I have fond child hood memories of us all living out in Mr. Otis's rent houses on the Hermitage Hwy. Oh What wea crew we were. Stephanie, Susan, Stephen, Suzette, Jan, Renee,Teresa & Glen Gates, Chancellor's Rut & Petie, Tommy Turner. That was the good old days. Lot's of imagination in the things we all did. Yes, I probally was the youngest to start a charge account @ Carl's fo a penny piece of bubble gum. (Hee Hee) As an adult my husband would stop in there daily to get I for his cooler (He worked for the Brad County Rd Dept for 36 Yr's & always came hm with stories to tell). He also would bush hog my mom's field for her. Wonderful to be around. Sincerely, Eddy Don & Suzette Woodard Russell, Sue Woodard

Name: Marlene Elliott
Message: One of the first memories I have from when we started the animal clinic in Warren was of Mr. Carl having told the mail carrier to just throw all of our mail in the ditch and we would sort it out as that would be faster and more accurate. What a delightful fella he was. My sympathy to the family.

Name: Mike Lonsberry
Message: I was greatly saddened to learn of the deal of Mr. Carl. Warren has lost another good citizen and a fine person. My dad, Lee Lonsberry, was a avid Crappie fisherman and bought a lot of bait from Carl. Later, when Carl started having the "breakfast crowd" at the One-Stop, the place turned into an institution. Carl turned Luke's Worm Ranch into a Warren and Bradley County Institution. God bless his family and know that the world is a better place today because of the presence and contributions of Mr. Carl.

Name: Jim & Ginger Anders

Name: James Wright
Message: So many wonderful thoughts run thru my mind when I think of Mr. Carl. But the best is hearing my uncle Howard Melton tell me time and time again that if hadn't been for Carl Savage's determination he probably wouldn't have accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Many things can be said for wonderful people but the only real thing in life that matters in the end is our Salvation. And the only thing we can take to Heaven with us is those we encourage in the faith along the way. Family may God comfort you during this time of adjustment is my prayer.

Name: Debbie Savage/Upton
Message: Dale, Jan, Renee and all the rest of the Savage clan. I am so sorry I couldn't be there, but know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Just think of what heaven must be like right now with all those savage boys! Isn't it a wonderful thought? Miss you all.

Message: Jan, so sorry to hear about your Daddy. I have wonderful memories from stopping at Carl's One Stop with my Daddy on the way to the camp at Longview. You could not go fish'n without stopping at Carl's. Of course, I loved all of the snacks he had to offer too. Then as we got older, I loved hang'n out at your house with your family. Your Daddy was always telling some story & make'n us laugh! He worked way too hard too. We loved ride'n in his "ice truck!" If he only new how high we could fly over the railroad track!
